Onsen & Spa on the Mountain

Thanks to its volcanic nature Japan is rich with thousands of onsen - natural hot springs. Traditionally onsen were outdoor pools or public baths that contained water with high mineral content heated by a geothermal source. Today there are a wide variety of different styles, from simple indoor and outdoor baths to decadent spas. Two of the best onsens and two of the most tempting spas can be found at Niseko Village.
